white noise

white noise

A Poem by Latifa
"

please share with me your own white noise :)

"

White noise

Do not follow the clock.

It rebels  against  the hourly chimes of order.

It stays stagnant,

To kill you deafly.

It is not silence.

But white noise.

Only

 white noise.

Whenever I'm not drifting, drifting into some nomadic consciousness, the noise surrounds my very nose.

Bash your head against the wall. The hour remains the same. Blah. Good write.

This poem reminds me of how a person can just struggle to make it through
the day...and when they finally get to bed at night and have that peace and
quiet...they realize how disturbed they are when they cant stop their brain
from racing.

It stays stagnant,
To kill you deafly.

I was forced to rethink from beginning.
Great one.

Hi Latifa - your topic white noise made me think of the static that I would sit and watch in a trance as a kid when the TV stations went off air. The static I later learned was supposedly the radiation or 'background hum' of the Universe. With that in mind I penned this

I once sang a song
To my surprise the Universe hummed along
Not just white noise but in harmony
But when I changed key
The Universe stopped singing with me
And now I sing alone
As it was in the beginning

~ Thank you for the inspiration Latifah :)
