A Seed

A Seed

A Poem by Brett Michael Wagner
"

To Kim S.

"

A seed silently falls

To the moist soil
On a foggy fall morning

It is soon buried

And forgotten
Dying to winter's bleak freeze

So too must we die
To ourselves and

Go through a dark, lonely winter

Yet the sun never fails
To drive back the
Unrelenting, testing snow

Sweet Mother Spring arrives--
With her, new life
And so it is with the soul

We have hopes to
Sprout into a
New life, fresh. glistening, free

Letting our sweet
Flowers bloom before
All the wondering eyes to see
