prompt two, stars.

prompt two, stars.

A Poem by Brooke Nicole Plummer
"

have you ever witnessed the death of a celestial body?

"

The stars are shot from the universe's cannon and cross to say,

"You're my world, and my world is crashing"

You were the fallen and I was the falling

Too bright to be blind, struck by the name,

The galaxy holds no posture, and so a leaning tower collapses

I've hand mended the strongest of wires when the material hid as strings,

Like the strings plucked on a timid heart that was shaken by cannon-force

Some aren't made for such a battlefield, yet I posed like a lion,

To forget that only the best end up with a constellation.
