The Setting Sun

The Setting Sun

A Poem by Phil Sanders
"

Another love poem .. inspired by the sunset last night and the beautiful company ...

"
Slowly as the setting sun drips pink across the sky…
I look into those liquid eyes which make me want to fly
I count up all those blessings that are now bestowed on me
And walk across my soul, which is sailing on the sea
I feel the wind of freedom as it drifts me into space
And think of all your beauty... your loveliness and grace
For time will never stop the love that we both share
And every day upon this earth our lives we’ll fill with care
So take my hand my darling, and walk along the shore
Experiencing such happiness you’ve never felt before
And let your heart sing loudly of the joy which love has brought
After all those lonely years when it was only sought
I offer you my friendship with love so full inside
As slowly now you walk to me with arms so open wide
And when our lips meet passionately.. desire will overflow
Our future spread before us …with all our love to show….

phil, beautiful work here, the imagery is written to heightened effect, smoothe rhyming,
the flow itself presented a graceful feeling of being, caught in the moment, as well the colorful
details capture the setting sun with artistic effects, and that being how you were able to
brush the entire blisfful scenery upon the readers mind, tracing a golden line presented in
full detail, "liquid eyes" very nice metaphors employed, imaginative, exquistely rendered

The "King of Love" is firmly seated on his throne.

Well done Phil, and I'm sure your love loves this very much.

Cheers

Another great write from the romantic poet that is Phil Sanders. If I had to pick one thing that I think could be improved (and it is only a minor) perhaps it could be split into stanzas to better show the progression of the poem and ideas. The words themselves though are beautiful. NH

Spellbinding. How utterly beautiful.
Your words have surely transported me away to a magical place where the sun dances and the moon careens.
Your imagery is full of warmth and happiness and love.
It's so light-hearted, so sheer and yet the depth, the all encompassing ache of love if filled to the brim.
How lucky you are.
Truly. :0)

An utterly magnificent write, Phil! You have written this with such eloquence and passion overflowing from your soul. It lends grace to the hearer and sings a love song to everyone that reads it and takes it in. Paints a beautiful picture of a love story that some only dream of. Thank you so much for sharing this, Phil!

There's two brilliant lines of alliteration in this, the first line and 'And walk across my soul, which is sailing on the sea' - think these two could be placed on their own and you would have a wonderful piece of work.
Really enjoyable once again.

"drips pink along the sky".. amazing, I could just see it. You have this ability to create images with words. I am not talking about descriptions, I mean IMAGES.. like you are painting with your words.

"wind of freedom" Such an amazing metaphor. Free wind, goes where it blows, no shape no form. Freedom, i liked this.

I really like how you write certain things, how you have the ability to shape them. Great write :D
