Phoenix

This was written for Alexx Calise - one of my favourite musicians who seemed to be going through a difficult time.

Out of the ashes, a Phoenix will rise
Lighting the way across starry skies
Strong as steel, it's my time now
You're not gonna break me, no way no how

It's always darkest before the dawn

Night still around me but not for too long
Nothing to hold me back, I will carry on
Right to the end, till then I will fight strong

No more deterrence, nothing but me
To depend on - where I will be free
Forever, for always, till past end of time
Then my spirit continues well after I die

This is my time now, this is where I rule
Over a world that is so bitter and cruel
Where life leaves you empty, with no ship on the shore
I'll flap my wings and high above I will soar

Pushing onwards like a freight train
Where I will lead on and my power will reign

Setbacks are minor, my fate leads the way
Where I will shall crusade on my journey immortally

Wild is my destiny, brave is my will
Hunting for something, I'm out for the kill

Eyes burn of fire, searching for prey
Nothing will stop me or stand in my way

Flames only to guide me on through this quest
I take on life's challenges giving my best
Fearing nothing, no weakness and risking it all
