A Shrine to Fragments of Light

A Shrine to Fragments of Light

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

A song to Spring…

"

Long lay the slumberous winter

Clothed in shards of whimpering white

Barren and bleak, this desert wasteland

Until I sensed her verdant approach

Sweet sunlight on her soft shoulders

Robed in vibrant flowing fabrics

Tulip, crocus, and rose-petal threads

She is crowned in succulent birdsong

Flowering fields rise in her rippling wake

And she whispers the soft sigh of seed time

As Earth comes to life by her touch

Every petal a shrine to fragments of light.

This is the second time I've read this. And it took me to a whole new world. Your words always make me wander in the beauty of nature. I really, really love this one. And the picture though!!
Serene, soft, soothing. Loved it!

Oh, those are the best places to find. :)
Never before did spring arrive adorned with such beauty. Her triumph is the triumph of goodness and abundance against adversity. I loved every stunning line. Amazing, breath taking and more.

your enchanting pen strikes again, or should I say keystrokes. I was so tickled at the alliteration you sprinkled in there as well. Spring is my second favorite season and was when I was born. New beginnings and magic. If I had these sensual whispers I would wake up too, lucky spring.. nicely done as always Craig.

Thank you so much, April. How the earth saw joy in the spring birth of you, dear poet. :)
Oh spring how we look no for it when the world is blanketed in white and frozen.

Truly appreciate your kindness.
Beautiful opening with the somber tones of winter, then quickly turning out the vivid imagery of springtime. Your word choices are excellent to convey a fluidity of observations, as the sounds of the words are as lyrical as the meanings are meaningful.

the last line is my favorite; it is magical without seeming out-of-touch with the romantic aspect of your words
