A Chapter by Jordan Williams
"

another song for my friend to sing in her band

"

chapped lips

bad kiss

it just became a habit

tragic

bad fit

when we lost the magic

past it

sad it's

gone, we should have grabbed it

when he catches your eye, everything's perfection

til one mistake can change the direction

you love him, you hate him, the pendulum swings

on moods that love's momentum brings

chorus:

live and die by each romance

a devastated heart has no chance

until a deep stare and slow dance

revives your life in a new romance

tapped, quit

rabbits'

loyalties are fad trips

mad fits

passions

fickle with new fashions

wrapped gifts

packaged

to distract from baggage

his kind words ensure he'll be much better

actions redeemed by one lovely letter

you hate him, you love him for the vow he's pledged

you pray that he'll catch you and leap off the ledge

chorus

your world is complete, made whole

every time you meet a great soul

making all things new

til he's no longer charming or tender

shining smiles lose all their splendor

breaking all things true

chorus
