Truth Lost

Truth Lost

A Poem by George Love

Truth Lost

George O. Love

When once a man was lost in sight
There his goal not worth his fight
Found one who fought to hide
Dark secrets kept deeply inside.

Lost in sight the battle grew on
Dark secrets hiding rose the dawn
In a trusted stranger still betrayal lay
As he crossed the blood-strewn path at noon of day.

More his courage and faith over thrown
Dark secrets hide from the dawn
Trust in one or trust in none
A decision he made, a battle he won.

Courage high and sword now drawn,
Into the fray, he flew headlong.
Trusting now in one who may
Care not the battle be won that day.

Trusting one or trusting none,
His hands now weary in midst of fight
Cared now the one who shed the light
For in the battle, decisions made and allies he won.

Sight be lost or sight be found,
Truth now lost, so horrible that sound.
For in the midst of battle betray
The one who holds to light of day.

Swords still drawn as one to lay,
Waste to land in darkness of day,
Was once the man now lost in sight,
When battle became not worth his fight
