Love is a Wave, Advancing in Phases

Love is a Wave, Advancing in Phases

A Chapter by Constance-Outspoken

It is not found within young lover's gazes

For there is a difference 'twixt it and lust

Ask the old and they will tell you how

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

Lust comes in sudden fiery blazes

Most mistake for her cousin, true love

Who takes patience and persistence-

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

You'll find her mostly in wrinkled faces

The kind of love all living people seek

She blossoms in youth, perhaps and yet

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

There's often a stall between stages

When hearts fear or become weary

But those who conquer her can vouch

Love is a wave, advancing in phases

I totally agree with you that love comes in phases. This poems flows so beautifully and the topic is a wonderful one to read about. the words seem so delicate and kind.

very true. I think this poem speaks for what we all know, but deny to ourselves. As always, impressive peace of work, Ms. Constance.
