Ghost of Grendel

Ghost of Grendel

A Poem by James Loggins
"

This poem is basically true, there is a lot of evil in the world we live in, and somebody has to stop it.

"
You remember the story of Beowulf?
The warrior who came across the sea
Just to kill a deformed demon named Grendel
Whent his story was told to me
I realized there is still evil in this world
Other than Grendel and his mother
Some people are monsters
And will kill one another
Just so they can get their thrill
And when they're finished murdering their victim
They will look for more people to kill
It's all a matter of the demon
That was in that story
For he does not live in the real world, but in the soul
Of some of the people in this world
He causes them to lose control
When the Anglo-Saxon Bards sang that song
They were not singing it right
They were only getting it all wrong
Grendel will live on forever as a ghost

I have read three of your poems and I must say that I am intrigued by your style. Using poetry to express your thoughts or opinions to the world or events is obviously not new, however your style and delivery adds a unique layer to expressive poetry.

This poem in particular was a nice examination of the evil that torments the world passes through every age. None are truly free from it. Nice work!
