My Love Keeps Moonbeams In Her Pocket

My Love Keeps Moonbeams In Her Pocket

A Poem by daninstockholm
"

to my lovely wife

"

My love keeps moonbeams in her pockets

Small strands of light in her breast pocket

To light the path for me

When I, in my moments of fear and doubt,

Lose my way home to her heart.

A trail of bread crumbs and

Lanterns aglow from her warmth

Lavender and rose petals scent along

The paths edges to keep my feet on track

Her whispers and sighs hover in the air

A soft melody to follow in case my eyes

Might be blinded for a moment

She takes no risk, leaves nothing to chance

She knows that I know where home is..

Quite an enchanting piece! Your imagery is intense and kindles the senses; I actually identified with you and was overwhelmed by feelings of serenity and a polished, elevated love. Your structure is carefree and the fact that you chose this deep colour for your letters signifies the strong passion that saturates the poem. Great job!

always love to
I like how the words, "my love" gives two variations of meaning here. One, that you call her "my love", and the other is what you refer to as "my love" - that keeps moonbeams in her pocket!

A lucky lady, indeed!
