Spring Into Action

For the "10 Words I Give" contest.

 

Mother nature will always

Impress me,

Especially this time of year.

For she brings the miracle

Of resurrection,

Without fail.

The grass is all spotty

From winter’s chill,

But soon it will be completely green

With the sky’s help.

It will cry tears of joy

When you hear

The thunder moan,

That is something

The driest ground cannot ignore.

Then comes the first sounds

Of birds flying around

As they sing their hearts out.

Now comes the need

For me the walk around,

With one leg in front of the other

I will explore what modern day artists

Cannot ignore,

Cause spring becomes the pedal

That lets the muse ride on.

I like the way you personified much of nature, which really does feel like a riotous bunch these days. Your message brings everything alive, which is exactly how spring feels to me. What a lovely and intelligent use of the given words, Dale! Whilst adhering to the contest's requirements (heavy way of putting it!) you've created such a beautiful description of Spring in and with all its glories.

There's something quite surreal about those two final lines - they made me smile and, of course, that's what Spring should do!
