Feeling Graffitied

Feeling Graffitied

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

When the writing is on the wall

But the meaning is in the air

Blowing like a hurricane

Above the river of doubt

It creates flooding

Until the giving dam is broken,

Washing away hope

Into the mud

That was once solid belief.

As the foundation begins to sink

Like the Titanic

Everything comes down to

What has been buried deep down

When you owned the yard

Then place the bones

In the wishing well

Until a dream spills out… so it can sink in.

Then place the bones

Until a dream spills out… so it can sink in."

I kept thinking how everyone said at the time the Titanic was unsinkable and yet on her maiden voyage, that's exactly what happened. The bones of that catastrophe still a reminder today. Someone had to dream again afterwards of building new ships, using the science of what had gone before to keep the dream alive. That's where your lines took me Cowboy. Thank you.

I love hearing where my poetry takes people... thank you for sharing.
it's kinda like that saying, "if you want the rainbows, you gotta put up with the rain"... so dream on Dale, dream on...

Thant is a great saying. Thank you for the input.
Yes, dreams can be buried in a hurricane ..,
but memories in our mind surface now and then like Spring blossoms floating on the waves of desire. Beautiful wistful poetry. truly, Pat
