Human Kaleidoscope

Human Kaleidoscope

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The moisture covering

            The window to the world

Are the tears in my eyes

            Clouding my vision.

To wipe them away

            Would be a mistake

For they make the colors

            Of the human race

Look like a kaleidoscope of love

            In childhood rhymes.

The only colors I ever see

            Through a clean dry pane

Are flashing reds and blues

            Following crimson concrete

From races always colliding

            To run one another over.

These sidewalks were once

            A path to heaven’s gate

Have become graffiti time

            For the devil’s artwork.

So I will let the tears

            Flow like wine

Down the window

To my soul

And pray that like

            A good wine

Peace and understanding

Gets better with age

When everyone realizes

            We all grow from

The same vine.

This is magnificent Dale!I Favorite stanza....
The window to the world
Are the tears in my eyes
Clouding my vision.
To wipe them away
Would be a mistake
For they make the colors
Of the human race
Look like a kaleidoscope of love
In childhood rhymes.

I absolutely love that stanza...A great piece of writing!!!!

Wow!!! really deep and moving,

"The only colors I ever see
Through a clean dry pane
Are flashing reds and blues
Following crimson concrete
From races always colliding
To run one another over.
These sidewalks were once
A path to heaven's gate
Have become graffiti time
For the devil's artwork."

for me this summed up life really well. loved the poem, the flow, and the content and the way it was structured.

Blessed be,
Fallon

There are plenty of great poets on this site, but you are one of the greatest!

This is my favorite stanza because of the imagery. A kaleidoscope is always so interesting to look through, and I can see your point. You make it clear how the world is comprised of so many people, which is also shown in the end that we all come from the same place. (Or at least that's how I see it...haha)

Great job!

Unlike your other readers, I like your opening stanza. It rivals me to see the world as it twirls around me. Although all the same, they can't seem to notice for their attention to detail is lost in the avenue of who is in control. The shock and awe of the images and colors are mangled into pride instead of compassionnice write Dale

This is all so true and put down in verses in a wonderfully succinct manner, impressing the reader with the subtle imagery and rhythm. Well done!

I love this Dale...
The tears letting you see the beautiful colors instead of the ugly ones of -

"flashing reds and blues

Following crimson concrete

From races always colliding

To run one another over."

Very cool.....

Another excellent write!

Wow, this is a great piece....such emotion and so deep. I really like the idea of the kaleidoscope....your tears blurring you from seeing the harsh, hateful truth of the world. I especially love the last stanza...its so beautiful and yet so sorrowful at the same time...Amazing write!

Sing it, Dale!!!!!!!!

Your last few lines says it all and I couldn't agree more.

I also love your use of color and the word kaleidoscope, for some reason, always seems joyful to me.

These sidewalks were once
A path to heaven's gate
Have been come graffiti time
For the devil's artwork.

I love these lines right here, this is one amazing write sweetie.
The devils art work is airbrushed in form of our soul that is tainted
and corrupted.

So I will let the tears
Flow like wine
Down the window
To my soul
And pray that like
A good wine
Peace and understanding
Get better with age
When everyone realizes
We all grow from
The same vine.

This is so true, we drink from own own cup and then
turn it around and try to fill it again with desires we don't need
We should bless the cup the way it comes

Amen! Dale
