Wax Figurine Living On Molten Dreams

Wax Figurine Living On Molten Dreams

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I am reading The Heroin Diaries for a second time and it inspired this little write.

"

Time is a cold reality

When tossed about

On the waves of infinity

Inside a storm of neglect.

Home is nothing more

Then a square white circle

Sectioned off and marked

       As evidence.

One sniff of the soul’s aura

Brings echoing cries

Of hell’s hounds taunting

The lonely man in the moon.

When childhood is a prison

You’ve escaped from

Adulthood becomes

Solitary confinement.

The only refuge

Are those straitjacket lies

That wraps the mind

In sugar coated peace,

Till the saccharine melts

Inside a ring of fire

From Satan’s glare

Making your eyes a lit wick

And flesh the wax

When you burn the candle

At both ends.

once standing tall and proud, passions ignighted along a trickling stream of hot wax, only to climax into a pool of reflection,of what it used to be and has now become...these lines hit hardest to my ears...
Home is nothing more
Then a square white circle
Sectioned off and marked
As evidence.

Gosh Dale, what a hard hitting piece this is and rightly so!! So many of this generation have fallen prey to Heroine, ruined lives and too many young deaths. The message doesn't seem to hit home.

"Inside a ring of fire
From Satan’s glare
Making your eyes a lit wick
And flesh the wax
When you burn the candle
At both ends"

Very strong sentiments...you did good Dale :-)

The lonliness of the addict is well captured here.

Powerful piece of writing here with such a defined truth on life

which is full of "things are never as they seem" and we're all so

gullable to fall into such sugar coated unrealities~

Great Pen!!

I am glad to have come, and read this, so many fabulous lines, the way you take your words and make us feel how lonely life can be, from childhood to adult hood, and perhaps the lonely traps we fall into

Home is nothing more

Then a square white circle

Sectioned off and marked

As evidence.

Such a strong piece, and sadly for many so true.

I love the way in which every line is intricately woven to create a series of moving pictures that capture the true essence of solace. I like the lines
"When childhood becomes the prison you've escaped from
Adulthood becomes solitary confinement."

Those lines in particular are powerful, in the way that the really stick their landing. It's like an arrow that pierces its target. Some very impressive writing here.

Both colloquial and deeply elabourate, this poem masters the language to catch a glimpse of the paradox in a serious but tongue and cheek fashion.

You create such an atmosphere of pain and isolation. The feelings of abandonment that lead to the overwhelming desire for release.. a longing for escape. Powerful, my friend.

Ha! Well that just about sums life up. Interesting the perspective of home, I thought. Lots of wisdom in this clever poem of yours. I also enjoyed the interesting perspective of the temporary enjoyment of peace and how it fades quickly. Terrific write that I enjoyed.

*Then a square white circle - this line makes my head hurt.

I love this, you put so much in such a small space. You are truly amazing.

I really had to stop and read every line carefully. You have a lot of ideas going on, and I like that. This poem, can take you on several "trips." lol. I must check out the book you mentioned that inspired this write! Thanks for sharing this! :)

My favorite lines-

"The only refuge
Are those straitjacket lies
That wraps the mind."
