Come Alive

A poem for the June '10 words I give' contest. The underlined words are those that had to be used in the poem for the contest.

Come Alive

Some would say, it can’t be true,

People lack the common glue,

 

Common sense and common cause,

Wild abandon of all laws,

 

Ambition -their failing dream,

A pearl necklace worn unseen,

 

Mushroom clouds swarm all their skies,

Arrogance just amplifies,

 

Pumpkin patch of all things vile,

Eavesdrop on them for a while

 

You will see all that they lack,

Courtesy, wisdom and tact,

 

Faith in nothing they can’t see,

Wanting fame and fortune free,

 

Demanding your attention,

Every word that they mention,

 

Every one a hollow shell,

Heartless souls bound for hell,

 

Needing something to arrive,

That will make them come alive

Don't say this often, but now I will: WOW.... I love this piece. Seriously, it has fire. What a great job you did with these words.
