forest

forest

A Poem by Abbie

I see the dark green carpet

I smell the musty leaves decaying

I hear the birds chattering

I feel the cool breeze

I taste the sweet warm berries

I think the forest is beautiful

That's a really nice way to put it Abby. The forest is a beautiful place to be in surrounded by nature. Great job.

I like it. Its short, sweet, and eloquent. You capture a perception of each of the senses, which contributes more to the delivery of the setting more than descriptions of multiple stimulants to one of the senses; therefore you get more accomplished with fewer word. The final line is a nice summarization of the previous lines, and it thought-inducing for its open ended finish. Good job.

I love this poem. I love when people write using the five senses, you do this very well!
I live in rural British Columbia so I'm surrounded in forests. So I can say you captured the essence of it really well!
I especially love the line about "green carpets" a unique way of describing it!
A suggestion... Maybe add a bit of an intro/ending sentence. It just feels a bit short!!
A wonderful poem :)
