the gentle fall from the cliff

the gentle fall from the cliff

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the gentle fall from the cliff

i have a random exactness
when it comes to your heart
i am obliviously cognizant
of my feelings,

deliriously scared,
emphatically unsure
intuitively absent of sense

and mostly,
carefully unconcerned with the risk,

i feel like falling hard on the pleasured pillows
even if they end  up,
filled with rocks.

To fall so hard, completely, and swiftly is the most exhilarating love of all. The reckless abandon throws caution to the wind; and whether we land soft or hard, it doesn't matter. It's that leap of faith that makes it worth it all. I really love this, particularly the ending. Beautiful!

nicely said, Linda...your response is better than the poem itself...

This is so true. Sometimes you just wanna let it flow, all the feelings and you plunge into it without caring if you'll end up with a smile or a broken heart.

I peer into your mind (page) tumbling in excitement as the words follow a quality of style that embraces my mind. Here in the heart of your soul wow seem entirely inadequate.

Al

This is brilliant Jacob. Those thought filled words of knowing that you always remember the chant "look before you leap", just as your feet leave the ground, left only with the hope of feathers and the fear of rocks. But we do leap anyway, we know the dangers and hope that just once, we will be redeemed in softness.

The stronger the love equally the stronger the pain from loss or betrayal, even more so as pain lingers more with time unable to let go, but with time the pain will lesson. A great write J

I feel this is very true when it comes to emotions towards others. We do things we aren't sure we even like ourselves but we do them anyway. I like this a lot

The deeper the love, the farther and harder the fall. And even if there is some pain involved, we don't know it because our focus is on one thing. Really good Jacob.

Each line filled with contrast parried. This reads like a fine wine pairs with an elegant meal. A taste any reader will acquire rapidly.
Deliciously clever write!

You use words so cleverly. Yes, sometimes those pleasured pillows can seen rather rocky!
