prospector

prospector

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

prospector

blurred inferences

dark glasses shelter a burnt heart

the seeing was believing,

but blind pupils don't learn the intricacies

of love enough to escape the fractured

retina with bleeding vein

and gold isn't struck

when the claim is naive

i was never focused

emotionally,

but now i am legally immune

to the feelings,

carrying around the one small gold piece of me that's left

as a souvenir

of what i once fearlessly sought...

What we seek is never always what we get.
Life seem to teach us that over and over again.
I suppose every momento left. Is a memory learned.

At times it is hard to know the evil brains working against the heart, legally immune to feelings ahs the golden effect of growth and learning, a real genuine writing

Perception manages to change that focal point
how things change in your mind's eye ?
But the heart cherishes everything
and knows what is true gold and that can never be altered through sight ...... because it is irrelevant of presence .....

Metaphorically unique.
A tragic perspective.
Even though so many claim I haven't one, you broke my heart, Fredo!

thank you, Jimmy...and nice reference to the Godfather II

Powerful, personal, perfect. You as the prospector seeking but not finding. Erecting defenses against the pain and continuing to survive, reminded of your quest by the pure gold piece of yourself that you carry. I see the dreamer, much like The Man from La Mancha, in this prospector. I see him fighting windmills and reaching for the stars still....Kudos my friend

Just truthful my friend:)
Like a trick knee those reminders of what we didn't know we had creep in an bite us. Even worse so if they are shiny, around our neck, and sway with the motions of our lives.
