In my Grandmothers pub were two regulars. Doris and Tom. Elsie had no nose and Tom had no ear.
At this time of year the greeting was; and I swear this is true. With the broadest Lancashire accent.
"A Happy New Ear to thee Tom"
"Aye and a happy new nose to thee an all Doris"
So a happy New Nose to thee Annette or in Gaelic Bliadhna Mhath Ùr
