an allusion to algebraic myth

articulate the ruse
your eyes already have

they look the other way
when you convey the simplest
meaningless implication
that our instant gratification
has manipulated us into steadfast silence

(the winter is of use
to the writer,
poems are free-falling snow sighs
lost in hot August nights

lonelier than single loons on a pond
of grief),

endings are less complicated
when the math is clearly stated
two minus one is none

if imaginary numbers
possess the heart.

Great lines: poems are free falling sighs lost in hot August nights. Lonelier than a single loon on a pond of grief.

Great work Jacob!

Al

Being a math person, I was drawn to the title, and I am now in a state of emotional recovery. " poems are free-falling snow sighs." is one of the most beautiful metaphors I have ever read, because that exactly what they seem to be much of the time. "two minus one is none" such a simple line that contains so much truth of the heart! Beautiful!

Love gone bad described through superb metaphor. Jacob, this stanza:
"the winter is of use
to the writer,
poems are free-falling snow sighs
lost in hot August nights
lonelier than single loons on a pond
of grief"
is perhaps one of your best...amazing! Lydi**

as i do you jacob :):)
Somehow numbers and meditating on them can transform that same part of out brains that poetry does... Love that both are crazy mysterious. These metaphors are some of my favorites.

I never thought math could be used in a beautiful poetry. Your works just keep on getting better and better. Love it! Keep up.

so many fractions can complicate the heart, one plus one is the best way to find a perfect whole..

The above lines. Logical and true. Thank you Jacob for sharing your amazing poetry.
