snow blind friends

snow blind friends

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

snow blind friends

on ancient television sets,

delinquent heroes

just rumble fish

seeing themselves in glass houses

fighting their own reflections

caught between barriers

looking at others in color

while their own black and white existence

degenerates to a broken pedestal,

propaganda eyes view them through shade drawn windows

eclipsed versions of sainthood

Martyrs in the motorcycle minds

of engine revving followers.

"Snow blind friends" obsessed and deluded by false images on blaring screens- past leeching into present...measuring themselves against artificial heroes- propaganda Gods behind the blinds.Bigotry, ignorance, hatred- all in living color- rev the engines and ride...Great write!

You are welcome. A pleasure to read this poem j.
The poem took me to the past...perhaps the sixties...the heroes on motorbikes, whizzing past soundlessly...as phantoms searching for the remnants of their glorious past...

A deep write, great picturization.

It struck a chord with me. You are welcome.
there is a lot here...
got two pictures here-
one of a scene that is behind the fuzz of an
old tube tv... waiting to be seen
another of almost stalkerlike-
drive by and trying to get a peak
of another life.

pedestals, saints and martyrs...
sounds worth following.
