the keys to each other

the keys to each other

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the keys to each other

smack me silly
with your poetry backhand
words stinging my cheekbones
slicing through the skin of my impairment
my weakness,
there have been too many periods
too many stops in my life,
i want a run-on future
let me read you into it
i promise not to be a fragment of love
we won't need punctuation
just enough white space on the page
to rhyme into eternity
getting stronger with each beat
each line....

the phenotype of poetry, the observable properties are indeed a kind of backhand. they happen by a combination of the genotype and the environment. This poem Jacob even smells good..lol....dana
