A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a unique interlude of subjects

sifting through memories of you

assorted anomalies of us

where we were when we were

particles of matter

and how we mattered to each other

Geography overcame Sociology

Physics supplanted Anatomy

and we became two distant bodies

of light and love,

in the science of separation

different ingredients to the same recipe

but the mouths of closeness

are apart

we are a part

of a History

no class could ever have taught.

Perhaps it boils down to simple mathematics that we learned in grammar school, you know, two take away one leaves one...and often a lonely one at that. Great metaphor.

thank you for your kind review, Fabian.
science of separation... this is so incredibly and painfully accurate. when it stops being 'us', and the feelings associated and becomes the logistics and reality... my problem is admitting it to myself. beautifully written!

it's my problem, too, Rain..
thank you
j.
so there's a science to this separation malarkey - well as usual I'm flunking.
Brilliantly clever Jacob.

"Particles of matter..and how we mattered to each other"...so close and yet so far. Two "Different ingredients" in a relationship that spins out of orbit. Hey listen, for the record,- "Two out of three ain't bad"....Kudos my friend!

For those of us who have suffered loss we can only say there is beauty in the sadness of loss.

Reminiscing....so melancholy. Perhaps no one would teach this history, but it is part of who you are...and who she is. Distance does make a difference in any relationship...absolutely. Lydi**

does anyone ever like geography?
and yet it is so applicable.
interesting histories can be poetic
or bad soaps... just saying.

Alas the sadness is palpable in this mournful piece of retrospective yearning Jacob.

Mr. Jacob you are subtle, satirical, sensitive, everything in this poem. This has to be my favorite from you this week!
