Round

Round

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Round

sparse implosion

on the outside,

cheeks turn rose

fists clench,

she's gone

and on the inside

i am in the corner

pleading for them

to stop the fight.

Have so much emotion in the inside but cannot use or do much with it.
I feel that. Thank you for sharing!

really like this one and yes one can only be a shadow looking on witnessing all these mistakes we make.

Round, like a circle in a spiral
like a wheel within a wheel...
As kids at times we witnessed spats, and arguments, all while cowering inside waiting for them to stop.
My mother could give as good as she got although I only remember one blow. when she knocked my old man off the toilet with one punch, but it was a beauty.

Not all the memories are good ones.
Thanks, j. A good write.

Ah, I can tell you I've reread this poem multiple times over and over and got different messages each time. This is like a complex poem that could mean almost everything. Thsts the beauty of it. I wish to know what this means to you because there's no way of me really telling what it means. I like this and I find it really intruiging, actually. Love it!

Hahaha there's some wise words there, J. This was very much pondered over :)
the day before V-Day and Jacob, you have given us not one, but two love stories (the 2 poems you posted today)... or perhaps that's NO-love stories.... seems your red-suited, winged imp Cupid had poison on the tips of his arrows... I guess it is only in a fantasy world where there is a happily ever after, cause in this world we fight, most times needlessly, but we want love, then we beat the crappola out of it....

sorry Jacob, I only had one cupa coffee this morning and I am cranky and cynical... your poem reminded me of the broken nose I got once in such a fight, blood everywhere.... true love right??!!

if only we could have a sympathetic referee ... once that tide starts to flow we are kissing the canvas for the 10 count :( what a strong memory you inspired in me ... thank goodness for the balm of time and new loves found :))

A very powerful poem! The tug of war and its repercussions, threatens the very being of a child.
There is no sense of security for a venerable person in situations like that

Throwing in the towel. You've had enough. White flag. That's what you gave me Jacob. Pleading for the fight to stop. Great stuff.
