Seeds of Faith

Seeds of Faith

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

Faith takes a tremendous amount of trust and when you've had little trust in others it's difficult to have faith.

"

A friend wrote about his reluctance to believe in God,

as I read, all I could do was nod.

I know that feeling of pride,

      not wanting to be taken for a ride;

        but then, my heart races,

should I be safe and cover all the bases?

If He is for real,

 I don't think He'll make a deal.

Faith, it's a leap into the unknown

and my seeds of faith were never sown.

At my age, I'd better get off the fence,

but it's difficult, when I want everything to make sense.

scientifically it already makes sense...
religiously is what sense we make of it
the term to each his own- but then that leaves us all wondering, what if God is true and I do not feel it ,what will happen to me...but even for those that believe -it is a sense of peace for an individual
this is an interesting write I truly enjoyed it
thank you for sharing

I really like this. It helps to know others think and feel the same as I do.

Sometimes it's better to stay on the fence. Whether or not you have faith, the only thing you could really do is believe what you want. Making sense of everything is impossible. Especially the existence of the unknown. Anyways, it's always a good topic to write about.

Thank you!
I find it ironic that many writers who write about pain, misery, hardship and personal strife frequently mention that they are living in hell, that there is no God, no Satan. Ironic because for one, to believe in the existence of a 'Hell', and refuse to accept the existence of it's polar opposite, a 'Heaven', is a contradiction of immense proportions. That's the equivalent to stating that you believe in the power and importance of wind, an unseen commodity, has on our environment and future development of green energies, but that tornados are only a myth...

Faith. That's the key. Faith to see the unseen. Faith reach the unattainable. Faith in yourself and in The One that created you. That's all we need to do. Just have a little faith...

As we struggle in this age, we learn to never take things for granted. There are some out there who never learn that until it is too late. You have a way with (very few) words....Thanks
