Where Have You Been?

Where Have You Been?

A Poem by Barbara Walker

a love poem

                                             My Love's Face

My day starts out so right,
when you smile at me.
My heart is so light
and I feel carefree.

When you look at me,
with love in your eyes,
I'm glad that we are we,
I feel like I've won first prize.

When you caress my arm
or play with my hair,
I feel protected from harm
and know that you care.

Your gentle hands touching me everywhere,
take me to such a sensual place,
I am lighter than air,
all I know is my love's face.

I can get so lost in you,
loving and caressing your skin,
always in my thoughts and heart,
all this time, where have you been?

"all this time, where have you been?"
"where have you been all this while?"
these are thoughts of those swept off their feet by that one special person, so engulfed in that feeling we not only wished it continues forever, but we ask where have they been?
lovely write and indeed most relative

the stanzas connect nicely, well put ...however i love the lines

When you look at me,
with love in your eyes,
I'm glad that we are we,
I feel like I've won first prize.
