a golden sun smiles benevolence upon me

a golden sun smiles benevolence upon me

A Poem by felioness
"

traveling along the road to Gjurat

"

a golden sun smiles benevolence upon me

as i travel the road to Gujarat
golden fields waving in welcome
gentle breezes whispering a thousand stories
omitting for a moment all the sad ones
my songs are birds in flight
as i travel on the road to Gujarat
reveling in the morning
who will travel with me
on those other winding roads
trailing stories across these holy lands?
i bow to all protecting me at this moment
from the sharpened blades of knowing
as i cross encroaching desert sands
on the road to Gujarat
i cannot avoid forever
the truths and passions
inherent in the places i pass along the road to Gujarat
the freedom fighters, lovers and the gods
who  have gone before
the bloody wars that shaped each path
the heavy hands and single-minded
cacoëthes forever driving man
but for now i smile back at the sun
feeling the wind whipping hair across my face
a reminder that a day will come
when i set aside time to ponder and to try
to understand all that went on before
but for now a golden sun smiles benevolence upon me
as i travel on the road to Gujarat
