Fly Free Again

Fly Free Again

A Poem by Frieda P
"

My gift to my sister Lee on her birthday.

"
Broken wings, no flight in sight
what caused you to be broken
your flutterby midway interrupted
no explanations spoken

Your colors still shine through
your will and strength apparent
you spread your cheer so easily
your enthusiam quite fervent

Don't let those torn wings take you down
your elegance is very much still present
you loom above the rest of us
even in the midst of your torment

Reminder of carefree sunny days
your beauty still resounding
nothing can keep you bound
no one can keep you grounded

So fly away with broken wings
overcome your imperfections
be a brilliant symbol for us all
in your magnificent resurrection

I just cried. Some say 'why let these thoughts linger?' I say to them shut up. You are not the particular individual, and we all deal with things differently. Very sad about your sister. Sharing this may help someone, and that is in understanding we all have people who love us. A friendship ♡ Frieda.

You have a big heart .
I know how much you loved her...more then a sister because of your age difference. Like a mother you tried to protect her. The pictures of her don't do justice to her beauty...both inside and out. Such a vibrant soul but like you so hurt on the inside. The choice she made left many unanswered questions and so much heart ache. But I'm sure that wasn't her intent. I think some of us are to delicate to live this life...much like that butterfly you saw. I hope one day you will find peace with this...because I think that's what she would want. This is a beautiful write...though sad. xo

I've known people touched by suicide. It was very difficult for them and though I've had a lot of loved ones die, I can't imagine.

touched my heart with this one, it is so sweet, and positive. You are such a great writer.
