The Unwriten

The Unwriten

A Poem by Joseph LaBarge

the best poems

the best poets

are unwriten

the writen

lives in the past

a dead thing

untill read

and felt

but poetry

actually poetry

burns

like a fire that cannot be squelcehed

a living thing

a part of the whole

a small existence

a spark

a kiss

a touch

of an ancient muse

older than language

and in those moments

I know who I am

beyond doubt

beyond being

i am moved

lost and frustrated

by my own incomptence

the ambiguity of language

most poems

the real poems

can never be written

they are a living thing

deep inside

a spark

a kiss

a touch

a fire that never burns out

and in thes moments

I know I am alive

most of these poems

will never be written

only to be breathed

and felt

by melself

and others

they touch.

About
I am a lapsed anarchist with a Dadaist sense of humor. I am horrible with punctuation, grammar, and spelling. I do not believe in form or reasonableness. My writing tends to contain contradictions and.. more..
