Dad's are very much needed. I found your lines touching. My granddaughter who lives with me, never got to know hers before he died. She grieved for someone she never knew.

she still needs his approval or disapproval to know she is alive...
and if he gets rough...she wonders what to say to those who stare, but is she really asking for it?

sometimes she feels she deserves it...but i don't think that is ever true...
