Moon Shots

Moon Shots

Did I hear howling on the midnight breeze
your refrains harmonize with spirits almighty
a lithe arabesque backlit naked ebony trees
when Granny Moon donned her ruby nightie

swoops to the earth kissing grey tree tops
spotlight of moon shards chasing their shadows
she gracefully crosses the street east to west .................... then stops.
Waiting to fill love's hearts bleeding fallow

A fond caress harvested from fingertips
your touch gliding beside her nightly glow
kinship undimmed by a fleeting eclipse
before her ocean plunge she lets it go.

too soon is gone the glorious sight
as mountain and tree tops reach up to hide
the fairest of moon's rare earthly delight
super and blue and blood together abide

now i in repose and she without nightie
slip down deep sleep as daybreak begins
tucking earthen warm leaves round each tightly
kissing and kissing the cheeks of her grins.

Beautifully you both blended your thoughts and produced a masterpiece! The images you two created are absolutely brilliant. "Granny Moon donned her rubie nightie... ." in the beginning of the night's journey, and you let our imagination run wild with yours!

A marvelous collaboration between two talented and beloved poets. Probably the ying and yang of nightly anticipations and prowess of lit desires. Gradually we feel the crescendo of soft melodies that serenaded. Awesome.

She sure is. You are both welcome.
First off.. love the song, love the singer. Dad taught me/us how!

What a wonderfully creative and warm print of the recent beautiful moon you've set here. Can still see it when i close my eyes. You've gathered so many gentle references to the moon's fleeting lights or/and shadows, the wayit glides here and there, leaving a trail of sighs and thanks

You two collaborate so beautifully.. not a join in sight. I never select a favourete stanza when more than one has done the writing.. tis ALLl precious.
