Pain beyond belief

Pain beyond belief

A Poem by hcarson
"

Just a rambler

"
Pain beyond belief
Pain beyond belief -
Tearing you in two.
Befuddling your brain,
Unsure what to do.

First you go this way,
Then swing that.
Nothing is clear -
You're dragged right back.

Decisions impossible,
Many clouds mar the way.
Wanting to express yourself,
No finding the words to say.

You smile - nod when asked.
Say everythings okay,
Yet while humouring on the outside
Your insides continue to decay.

i love this because it is so true....not only do we put on a good face to cover the pain inside...when people ask us how we are doing...most times they want the simplest answer, "fine, how are you?"
and really wouldn't want us to go into details of all that is wrong...so we put on that show...and they applaud...as we die a little more inside.

Too often people don't really want the truth when they ask,"How are you?" Rather than cause them pain we suffer quietly and smile despite the pain that racks us.

Very true Helen... I can relate to it very much... I have been in such situations many times in my life where I knew I was breaking inside but I couldn't do anything about it, all I did was smile outside... Confusion comes in mind and we start to panic in such situation because there is hardly any way left for us... Wow!! Now you are doing the works which you were known for and that is being honest with your works, they always contain the biggest truths of human life...

Sincerely
Dhiman

This is so true ma'am. I absolutely agree with your statements that you have put here in the form of a beautiful poem. One thing that I like about your poems is the poems always show a kind of reality which exists with everyone but none is able to realize that. I really appreciate the way you've penned the reality with beautiful rhymes and wonderful poetry....

I am glad for that... And keep trying... one day you will do it, I am sure....thanks...
That truth, of ever sliding towards entropy can only shield pain in the waking hours, a most guided piece that I could re-read all day, well done, good read. In the line "Leaving you unsure what to do" you could drop the word you, makes the rhyme run smoother and had the same impact.
