Carry On, My Wayward Son...

Carry On, My Wayward Son...

A Poem by The Last Wayward Son
"

For those of you who listen to only rap or country, this is another song-based poem. A song by Kansas, "Carry On Wayward Son"--- which happens to be my namesake. Listen to it if you haven't, otherwise this will make no sense, probably.

"
Seems that now everything is an ambient blur
As though everything were a dream
Be it heavenly or hellish
Through my days, I've seen triumphs and tribulations
I've seen wars fought and love cure disease
But it's still all a blur, a walk in the clouds
I admit that even I was skeptical of what I saw at first
But soon it became clear and sensible
And for once my dreams and the voices in my head
Were truthful and positive
So now I walk along a new road,
One that will have peace in the end
Not for me, or you, but everyone and anyone
It will be that day that I shall rest
For the game, so to speak, will be over
Hopefully I will have won, my trophy not being gold
But made of the hearts and minds of those it affects
Perhaps it'll come one day soon, but even if it takes years
I have no choice but the choice of following myself
This is the path I choose, maybe setting an example
No matter the outcome, however,
In the end, the seas of Life will be calm for me.

"Carry on my Wayward Son,
There'll be peace when you are done.
Lay your weary head to rest;
Don't you cry no more."
-Kansas

Some of you might remember me from long ago. In a bit of rage, I deleted everything that was once here and closed the account, but that just makes it all the more entertaining, as now I can build it .. more..
