Music stands alone the thief
Below thy windowed heart
In melodies of sad belief
From in thy world depart

O’er the lost beneath a moon
Of memory formed light
A brisk wind lingers wayward tune
The sound you hear this night

A symphony O’ long goodbyes
The orchestra to play
Found as one this stanza’d cry
Doth cast thy love away

Music sings the sorrowed themes
O’ broken heart's bewildered dreams
