Your Spirit

Your Spirit

A Poem by Jade Mayhew
"

I miss more and more every day, Mike. <3

"
A song, a thought, a photograph
Reminds me of your face.
I've tried to mend the hole you left,
But you can't be replaced.

So day by day, I reminisce
And think of memories,
So never will my heart forget
The things that made me free.

I think of, first, your smile,
Your grin which lit the night.
It made me laugh despite my pain,
My anger or my fright.

Your eyes are all I picture next;
They held your spirit true.
Seductive, deep and beautiful,
They'd make me lost in you.

Your hands, which always felt so warm,
Fit perfectly with mine.
A better match, in all my life,
I've yet to ever find.

A heart that beats so steadily,
Yet pulses madly so.
A touch, a kiss, a hug, a look
Could make your heartbeat grow.

A soul mate unlike anyone,
A special brand of friend.
Though times have changed so drastically,
Our love won't find an end.

So here I'm sitting day by day
And night by night by night,
I think of how I miss you still,
And how my heart still cries.

I think about your smile,
Your eyes, your hands, your heart,
Your soul, our bond, our friendship,
The space that keeps us apart.

And how I hope you think of me
Or watch me where you are
Cos though your body may be gone,
Your spirit's in my heart.
