It’s always amazing to me
When you say you know what I’m dealing with
When in reality
You know nothing of the sort
You may have been in the same situation
You might have not
But everyone has an opinion to offer
And advice they think I should take
You’re going to be okay, you say
Everything’s going to be alright
But who are you to make these promises?
How can you possibly know if tonight will be my last night?
Another popular phrase I hear
“If you’re going through hell”
“Just keep on going”
But I don’t hear anyone say
What to do if the devil offers me a different way?
To sell my soul
Escape this hole
Well, what then?
People think they know
What and where
The lowest of lows is
But they know nothing
Every opinion
Every piece of advice
Means almost nothing
If it’s applied to your life
You’ve got to figure it out on your own
Even with millions of friends
You’re really all alone
No one can tell me it’s going to be fine
I am the one who has to toe that line.
