Old songs

Old songs

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Sitting here,
  reading a book.

Put on some music to give some background noise.

Just a few old tunes,
  but they have an effect.

Each one is remembered.

They are mostly happy memories.

Good times shared with friends.

Time has moved along,
and some of those friends have also.

Gone too soon.

I listen to a song,
  and see a face.

I still see the smile.

I like it. One I always connect to is Boston's "Peace of Mind".

Very sweet and it's a beautiful song.
Music often moves me in this way. I can remember the moment vividly -- holding hands with a boy at the roller rink when I was twelve when I hear Human League "Don't you want me", for example, that's what this made me think of. Thank you.:)

Old song and good song is my muse for writing. Give me Leonard Cohen, Johnnie Cash and some P.J Harvey. I can write. Thank you Jon for sharing the excellent poetry.

Neil Young is good and B.B King is a legend. Good song allowed our mind to relax.
