Night Sky's Wonders

Night Sky's Wonders

A Poem by Justin
"

Just a poem relating to some of my questions and possibly yours

"
I feel the chill wind blow upon my face,
Looking up into the night sky with wonder.
Can we really be the only thinking race,
It's definitely a question worth a ponder.
Would they greet us like a brother?
Or would it begin and end in fighting?
Could we possibly teach one another?
Or will our tempers commence igniting?
We could learn what flaws belong to man,
Which flaws belong to sentience.
We'll see the progress from when evolution began,
But how bad of a light will be shown on intelligence?
Whatever the case may be, we may never know.
We may never meet anything else given the chance to grow.
We're an island in this universe, stuck here to ponder.
Nothing to do but to look at the night sky in wonder.

Loved the thoughts this poem inspires...the question of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe and how we as humans might react if exposed to it...Good job. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
