The apology

The apology

A Poem by AKhaus

You accepted the apology as sincere, but please allow me to make this clear.

As you peer down from your golden, perilous loft I have been observing your glutinous, greedy and self important talk.
You fail to understand, with every compliment you always seem to feed from my hand.
How could you possibly believe that I would go quietly beneath the sleeve.
Inflated ego and false self-esteem never brought you happy or any resolve to your tireless dream.
Beguiled by your blood, never comprehending the nature of your love.
Lost again on false woes, the tales you weave tighten closer to your cove.

You accepted my apology as sincere, I speak the word as I breathe the air.
Be careful of the words you sow for they find a way of getting back to those who should know.
