INSPIRATION

INSPIRATION

A Poem by Lasergraph
"

A fun look at writer's block

"

I sat alone

    And tried to think,

Of words so grand,

    To put in ink.

The words came slow,

    And uninspired.

No cutesy rhymes,

    No expressed desire.

No lover’s song,

    No wrong to right.,

No erotic rhyme,

    To fill the night.

Inspiration,

    I could not find,

To plant a seed,

    Inside my mind.

I prefer to think that these are the times when silence is golden. Sometimes, there's just nothing to say. When there is, the floodgates will open and the words will pour. Otherwise, we need to learn to love the quiet tempest waiting in the wings.

Lovely write!

A nicely done piece! Short but brilliantly written.

It's interesting how we all came to be inspire to write. When we find ourselves stalled in the wake of ideas stopped by flood gates, we panic in fear we have lost one of the jewels in our heart. No hope is lost as we can always open those gates once more.

Thanks. With poetry I don't usually force it. If I feel it I write and if not I let it go. With no.. read more
I've been there many times. Too many actually. You wrote this well.

The true struggle of any artistic mind, although, i am amazed at how you took the pure act of being unable to create an idea, and were inspired by it, it makes the reader know that, sometimes, one must just sit and think, even if it is truly about nothing, and they can find an answer in that. I love this
