Barbers and Surgeons

A Poem by Davidgeo

than she ever was to the pyramids

closer to us, in time, was Cleopatra

        across gaps not so vast

lies all our history, like a brief second

           relatively speaking

across eons. . .  lie more forgotten things

than remembered. . .

you can see pictures of lobotomies

we did that s**t as recent as cameras

still today, you may find slavery

organized torture, rape and state sanctioned murder

still today, we live closer to our caveman

than any type of idealistic one

we must never forget this. . .

technology cannot fix our nature

I often ponder whether or not we can consider humanity to have become more sophisticated.

If anything, we've created more ways to excuse being savage beyond what nature requires for survival of the fittest.

I completley agree with you when you wrote "technology can not fix our nature." In my opinion I think that technology destroys society, because everyone depends on it too much.
