than any type of idealistic one

I often ponder whether or not we can consider humanity to have become more sophisticated.

If anything, we've created more ways to excuse being savage beyond what nature requires for survival of the fittest.

Have you ever heard of a dead French guy by the name of Jean Baudrillard? He's not easy but good god damn is he interesting. Everybody says to start with "Simulation and the Simulacra" but I say f**k that... start with "The Transparency of Evil".

He really is a pain in the a*s to read but very much worth it. By the looks of your above comment I think it would definitely be worth it to you.

That whole "people who speak French can think differently" trope always sounded like bullshit to me until I read "simulacrum and simulacra" by Baudrilliard and "Crash" by J G Ballard. One for intellectual dissociation and the other for erotic dissociation. The French really do think differently than any other westernized nation (artistically speaking anyway).

yes very true, speakers of other language seem to naturally be more poetic, strategic, yet filled with emotional meaning (thats why I think subtitle movies are wonderful).

I'll be reading more of him once I light that J up and free my mind for other perceptions

Not just any other language... French in particular.

It's the only bona fide ball's to bones romance language as far as I'm concerned.

Try and pick up a little Russian tongue... you'll feel miserable.

That's probably a good thing. Germans and Russians... they've produced some of the greatest thinkers of all time, still, they also have two of the ugliest spoken languages of all time. If Napoleon had actually succeeded we'd all be speaking so much more romantically right now.

I completley agree with you when you wrote "technology can not fix our nature." In my opinion I think that technology destroys society, because everyone depends on it too much.
