This is how I feel about us Humans.
Why do we feel like we can boss around and hurt animals because we think they are less intelligent?
But then again, I'm no vegan..
Not sure what your piece meant for you, but it certainly touched my thoughts on human existence.

It's not exactly up to us, individually, who we boss around the food chain. Pretty much every instinct you have, even beyond hunger, comes from a long line of cunning and ruthless hunters. Most of what we do is only superficially understood... culture and society are elaborate adaptations of the traits that brought us here. When ever I am brutally honest with myself, I don't really like the reasons behind the things that I do.

One of the reasons I turned vegetarian. Bloodshed is gross and terrifying to man and animals alike.

Do you really think turning vegetarian stops the bloodshed? The food industry is not all you have to worry about. To be truly "meat free" you would be surprised at how many products you'd have to give up.

I know its everywhere like the cosmetics and leather industries. Even clinical trials are so cruel. Doing this just makes me feel a bit better. I loved goat meat till one day I saw how adorable baby goats are.

If they could, they would lick the skin off of your face to survive. You know that right? Nature doesn't give quarter to friendly ideas. Those cute things, they will murder you without sentiment if it ever came down to it.

Never looked at it from that angle but I agree, with the predatory nature of Nature, it is only logical for beast to turn upon beast for precious survival. Thanks. I'll try some mutton soon :)
