Schrödinger's Cat

Schrödinger's Cat

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"

when you turn to the eternally reliable
and it just isn't there, that day
what a feeling of dread,
that is left in it's place
god is dead
god does live
who can tell?
after that
what's the point?
all's the same

all's just time
dead alive
all's just matter
intertwined

spread apart

over time

dissolved
goes our everything

into nothing
eventually
(and at the same time)

that one thing

       forever  reliable

         --  who could tell?  --

Truly written well because it evoked strong emotions which is a poems job right?

Of course I may interpret this poem differently than intended, but I think it has so well depicted how useless a person who gave their life for something could feel if once they look into the box, the thing they gave their life for... is dead.

Before the box is opened there is all the hope in the world, but if the hope is limited to this world only, how pitiful would a life given for such hope be.

A people who give their lives knowing of such a risk must have quite the motivation.

I don't know why, but reading this made me remember a quote from a tv show called Altered carbon: “Oh, Mr. Kovacs, haven't you heard?GOD IS DEAD…we have taken his place.”

I find this provocative and melancholy.
You bring in this, a broadly scoped question, I think, which could be asked of many things in this universe.

I reluctantly agree.
Illusions...we create for ourselves..to fill the meaninglessness of existence. If we didn't have them, what would be there to live for? Eternally reliable is what I may label it for my own comfort. The reality may be different and tough to grapple with. I tried to understand the cat experiment but fail to do so.
