What Do You See?

What Do You See?

A Poem by Livenrite

Like the others of my kind

I have two big eyes

They see through innocense

and they see through gross lies

With every situation

Perspective can change

Is a picture beautiful

Or are its colors' strange?

What do you think

When you see tears

Are they tears of joy

Or a result of one's fears?

As a siren blares by

In the middle of the night

Is a woman to give birth

Or was one shot in a fight?

Do you scream and yell

When you see a spider

Or do you stare and marvel

At the web-making fighter?

When you pass by two people

Swapping cash for some drugs

Is it a cancer patient's comfort

Or the addiction of street thugh?

When you hear the buzzing

And you see a large bee

Do you worry it may sting

Or do you anticipate its honey?

When you see a big ax

Do you begin to wonder

Livlihook of a wood chopper

Or the weapon of a murderer?

When you see a book

Is it the intelectual's guide

Or is it filled with curroption

Ans dirty self pride?

I'll ask you the real question

and I'll quit with the bull

Is your cup half empty

Or is it half full?
