Collide

Collide

A Poem by Jesus & Gypsy Soul

I hang my pain like a painting
Portraying the shame that should bear me
A spilled canvas as is, lost & amiss,
Stripping naked and dancing on pages

Your spit words steal the breath in my lungs
Cut like a knife; I'd scream but I'm stung
You've made the incision
With thoughtless intention
Left behind like wreckage from head on collisions

But designs are cut from the clouds
& it's all coming back to me now
For as much as I forget what it's like to breathe
You take it all and return to me
The air to my lungs, you instill inside
A love in me; you make get me high

The alignment of stars, moon and sky
Dance above where me & my baby lie
Since fate set two to intertwine
Just you & I; our worlds collide
