Foolish war

Foolish war

A Poem by brenda

A wilted flower with an essence of dead around it,

Silently giving her fumes to lamented souls

A girl’s tear turns to blood as she weeps,

She pricks her finger with a thorn of a rose.

Anguish and despair fill her mind.

Her arms, legs, heart shivers from all this hatred.

Everything is dry, a fearful dessert to pass through, no green leaves, no water...

Over the prairies of darkness

She sits

Watches in silence the battle

Lost souls run away, new visitors shiver of the thought

They stay away in their nice sweet homes

This battle is foolish yet deaf to the warriors

A little girl conserves her hopes

And plants a new flower…

Blooms as if a newborn was seeing the world for the first time

If only the world will be seen with those pure eyes

If only this foolish combat would not have started

Then the girl who watches it all will write about the beauty of the world not the darkness of it

Whoever did this, whoever caused it is a fool

Whoever is part of it is a dead mouse in a trap

I want new people to come; there are new talents to explore

They have new insights to the world, what is keeping this?

Two warriors yet far away but they make it seem like they are locked up in a cage together

Their slaves are at their sides keeping up with everything, fighting for a cause that can be forgotten

A strong feeling of remorse lingers through the cage

Revenge it is written in their names and foreheads

Sweat is millions of tears fallen from each person,

 The end...

She writes, hopes that her words will be heard...

It is titled “A foolish combat “

A powerful and interesting tale in the poem. War are fought and people try to live a regular life. I was amazed by people who seem unaffected by war being fought in their streets. I like the emotion and the description of this poem. Last line is honest and true words.“A foolish combat “
Thank you for the excellent poem. Made me think.

I liked this poem, but I would love to hear more about this young girl, where she goes, what she does, maybe in the form of a story? (Anne Frank..something in that area maybe?) I see exactly what you are going for, and I love it. The insanity of war affecting those who are trying to bloom at their brightest hour! I am intrigued by the girl though...good stuff!

Short story in a poem, I suppose. Who cares. This expresses how many people feel about war.

Awesome work, poem or story (I'm not a technical person!). Very thought provoking indeed. Great again.
