No One Knows

My secrets are killing me

 

You see me everyday

You walk the halls with me

We laugh and talk

You think you know me

But, you’re wrong

 

You don’t know me

No one knows…

I’m about to explode

I’m being pulled in every direction

I’m forced to contain myself

Into a cookie cutter image

Of who I should be

 

You’ve known me forever

You’ve seen me cry

We are closer than close

You say you love me

But you’re wrong

 

You don’t know me

No one does…

Everything you see is a façade  

Everything I tell you is a lie

You wouldn’t love me

If you knew the truth

 

So I quite the voices

Screaming in my head

Lock up my secrets

Inside myself

Hold back my tears

And put on a pretty smile

 

I’m

 

                       Going           To

 

Explode

 

But, no one knows

This is an extremely good poem, and you really get the image across very well. I suggest you follow Sheila Kline's advice is you are not ok, but if this is just a poem written for the purpose of writing, I applaud you.

take a deep breath, relax and try to talk it out with those who "think" they know you!
You have expressed such feelings loud and clear, and it is an interesting write!
We never fully show the world who we are......some "secrets" remain hidden for a lifetime.
