Answer Me

Answer Me

A Poem by Mel Lisa
"

It is always hard to describe my poems in this "description" box. Mainly because it is hard to do so.

"

I have an idea…

Why not take memories turned to rot,

and dangle the pieces

to bate a stray?

Liquefy  tainted thoughts,

melted down to a purer state,

then merge like oils on canvass?

Do you linger in the evenings?

Plan for the night? Twist the arms of days and

hold the stars hostage?

I see my fate.

Lay me over the hot deserts, allow the mist to blur

my vision…suffocated as an

aborted form.

What do you say?

I rather we ponder at Dali’s melted clocks,

gaze at Van Gogh's starry nights.

But why so silent?

Can we be persistent in imagery?

Paint a path, take short cuts….

release a spark...

Answer me.

Poem was inspired by this intro snippet by one of my favorite singer Andreya Triana. It made me think of two famous paintings (mentioned in the poem). Not sure why my mind went there but that is what I got.

First off there is no need to describe your poetry, poetry is about interpretation… a very intriguing poem you have here… to ponder life alone is a necessity to understand our existence, to ponder it with the one we love is how you understand your connection to one another.
