Questions?

Questions?

A Poem by micky

Questions?

What is the point to living?
What is the point to go on when all is broken?
What is the point when there is no hope?

What is the point to forgiving?
What is the point if all that is left will be unspoken?
Why go on when you can't cope?

Because the answers might be lifting
Because life will be more that a poor man's token
Because brother this is just a minor slope

There will always be questions from another...
...but are we worth the answers brother?

I liked this a lot, especially the part where you answer the questions, but then end on the final question so as not to compromise the premise of the piece. And the final question is a doozey too. Are we worth the answers? I guess it all really depends on how we choose to live our lives and help people through their questions. Really well done my friend.

Very nice!... I love the questions and the subtle rhyming... the flow is so pleasant and the longing for answers felt in the reader... if you wanted to keep brother at the end and continue with the rhyming I can offer a few suggestions....

maybe....

There will always be questions plaguing another....
.......but are we worth the answers my brother?.......

or something like that...

Thanks Laurie ;)
Good work Micky! Not enough people out there creating nice little ABC triplets.
Few minor grammatical issues but Mira has beaten me to it once again, I disagree with her final point though, keep the ending on brother, but perhaps throw in something in the previous line so that they rhyme together? A nice little AA at the end would really set this piece apart!

Nicely penned.

Thank you Robin, I really do appreciate your comments and suggestions :)
Hey!! Very well thought out; a thought provoking piece! These are questions we always realize that we ask ourselves without even noticing sometimes!
I noticed a few things grammatically:
1. The last line of the second stanza, did you intend for there to be no question mark? Since that stanza and the one before it all ends with question marks, I would suggest putting one at the end of that line as well, for consistency purposes.
2. "more that a poor mans token" it is "man's" since you are speaking in the possessive.
3. "...but are we worth the answers brother?" Try and re-word this. Having "brother" at the end makes it sound a little awkward. Try and say something like "but, brother, are we worth the answers?" It adds its own dramatic pop and also it flows better with your lines.

This was a very good piece, I really enjoyed it! Well done!

I cound't help nodding at the end Micky. For them spirited ones that go through expecting all values will be upheld in life and one day they discover , none gives two monkeys and suddenly their life comes crumbling down only to be re - built . Whats more relevant them values living somewhere or your own life?

I know the one I 'd go for.

Good one Micky.
